Saudi Energy Efficiency Certification is a mandatory certification controlled by the SASO. As the only national standard agency in Saudi Arabia, SASO is fully responsible for the development and implementation of all standards and measures. Products, including most lighting fixtures and some electrical appliances, are mandatory to be labeled with energy efficiency labels.

The Saudi Standards Organization requires that products under control must apply for a SASOIECEE certificate before applying for SABER in order for the goods to be cleared smoothly. The scope of control includes lighting fixtures, mobile phones and accessories, cables, laptops and other products.

SABER Certification is a compliance certification assessment program for non-Saudi businesses (i.e. those exporting to Saudi Arabia) for product registration, issuance and obtaining compliance CoC certificates. Products will be subject to different compliance inspection procedures by accredited bodies (BV, CQC, TUV, INTERTEK, NEMKO, SGS, etc.), depending on the category.

The technical regulations for some low-voltage electrical equipment, children's toys, and supplies will enforce GCC certification requirements. It is necessary to obtain a GCC certificate issued by a recognized organization designated by GSO, and the product can only be circulated in the market after being marked with G-mark.
